About Me

My passion is to help children and families thrive emotionally and educationally. Since 2013, I have helped kids of all ages find success in their hardest subjects, and through their most difficult times. 

 

    I know that no single approach is right for every child, so I make a point to understand how a student learns best and I implement a variety of techniques to address each and every learning style. I do this while teaching core subjects as well as emotional skills. A child's world can also be difficult for parents. From making sure your child is happy at school to happy at home, I'm here to guide you with EQ Coaching and Education Consulting. 

 

I am trained and certified in mindfulness,  Teaching Critical Thinking Through Art,  Project CRISS (Creating Independence through Student-owned Strategies), Emotion Coaching, and Coaching Young Learners. I believe that patience, creativity, and a little silliness go a long way.

 

My educational background includes a B.S. in Exceptional Student Education with an endorsement in Reading and ESOL. During my time in college, I was awarded for my lessons on habit change for high school students while I was an intern. Doing those lessons is what led me on the path to emotion coaching. I brought this interest into my public school classroom, but eventually left to pursue homeschool teaching opportunities where my students could experience my full methodology.

As far as my own childhood, I have experienced an international primary education, having been raised between Miami, Europe, and the Middle East. Tumultuous would be the best word to describe growing up in my household, and not just because of moving so much. From my father having heart problems when I was a little girl, to my mother's rare breast cancer and brain tumors throughout my adolescence, I had to find my own way through school and emotions. These difficulties growing up are what have become the basis for my services. I want to be the person I wish I had growing up.
